1expensive price for a mediocre product  Jul 29, 2010

All I can say is that if I'm shelling out +/- $400 for an upgrade from a free software (acrobat reader) it better perform. Adobe Pro has been a major disappointment. The text editing tools are ridiculously awkward. I simply cannot believe how bad they are- you would think simple things would be there. For instance, if you right click on text you should be able to change properties of the text, right? Basic stuff- not with Adobe Pro. Even setting the properties in the first place seems neanderthal like- how do these guys get away with such crappy software? I've been bamboozled- if your looking at buying a pdf editor run from Adobe and check out something else. Although I haven't tried the paid versions I would look at Primo PDF or Foxit Phantom. Adobe should not be collecting any money for this product.

2Bloated and buggy  Jul 21, 2010
While editing forms, it scrambles and fills the page with one line over and over again. The typewriter feature sometimes resets my spacing settings. Thats day one of use with updates installed. Tech support blew me off even though I registered online. I'll try again when I have the box nearby. Bloated? Yes, it nearly 2 GB for a half baked word processor. I've started looking at alternatives and they are about 20 MB. I'm playing with Foxit Phantom. Its not perfect either, but runs much better.

5Fabulous Software--Good for Students Too!  Jul 07, 2010
I'm a student, so I was able to obtain a copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional 9 through my university for a hefty price, yet considerably less than the retail one.

I love the software. I photograph documents, articles, and occasionally books. Then, I use Adobe to take those images and combine them into PDF files that I can bookmark, append notes to, and take with me when I am away from the library / archives.

This is a product geared towards businessmen, obviously, but still very useful for others. If you are a student, you may want to consider making an investment in it.

The ordering process was great and delivery was quick enough. I had a great experience and software is working great!

2Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro  Jun 16, 2010
I bought this product to run on Windows 7 64-bit OS on my HP workstation running a 6-core Intel Xeon 3.3ghz with 24Gb of ram.

I admit I am having problems getting this system to settle down and stabilize.

However with that said, this software has had no end of problems, finding my scanner to scan to PFD without opening custom window, knowing whether it has been activated, requiring reinstallation repeatedly, updates for it coming at inconvenient times.

One little problem that irks me is the custom scan window process for naming the file seems dumbed up a bit from other areas. I use previous filenames as a template and then change them slightly for this filename. But the program does not detect that I have changed the filename and asks if I want to overwrite the file. The file doesn't exist yet.

Another is when the program issues an alert window that gets buried beneath other windows on my desk top and it looks like the program is freezing up my system.

My system is running with alerts issued to detect programs that might make changes to my harddisk. Every time I run Acrobat just to read a pdf file, I get the alert. It bugs me. I don't know what is trying to change my hard disk? Reading a pdf should not change the harddisk (maybe for last time file was accessed).

Why doesn't Adobe have a technical support line to call or chat on to help with problems?
