A mix of Annie and Oliver with a modern musical edge! Sep 03, 2010 August Rush - I picked up this DVD and began to watch it without reading the back cover. I was not disappointed. It was a great film, with superb music and very cleverly edited, with the film looking forward and back, intermixing with the present interspersed with clever sound effects, as it filters in and out.
The film was a mix of Annie and Oliver with a modern musical edge. It was unusual to see Robin Williams with ginger hair as the modern Fagan who befriends August Rush - a music prodigy who ran away from his orphanage, believing that he can hear music in everything and that he must follow it to find his parents.
Very Beautiful Story, Loved it Sep 03, 2010 I don't have a single bad thing to say about this movie. It was so awe inspiring. The only negative about the whole thing is probably Robin Williams, but only because he was such a nasty character. The music used in the movie is so beautiful and the plot/story is one of the most inspirational I've seen in a very long time. The ending has to be the ultimate in movie endings, I've seen this close to five times and I've cried every single one of those. I would even recommend NOT renting, because you can save the money you would spend that way to purchase this movie since it is more than worth it. More so on blu-ray, the details and colors are amazing.
August Rush Aug 30, 2010 Excellent movie, after renting it several times (older movie, scratched) I decided I wanted to own my own copy. I also bought the soundtrack from the movie, another excellent choice.
August Rush Review by Eme Aug 27, 2010 The delivery of the DVD was fast and I was happy to see the quality was very good. This was the second DVD I purchased from Amazon and I was very pleased. I recommend Amazon DVDs.
The movie is a great inspirational movie for musicians and those with the gift of music.
My Favorite Movie Aug 23, 2010 I highly recommend this DVD. It is a heartwarming story about an orphan boy who follows the music in his soal as he searches for his parents. He doesn't know why they gave him up but the music tells him that they love him and want him. The young actor is perfect for the role. You can't help but fall in love with him.
