Excel 2007 - Terrible Aug 26, 2010 If you are used to using a toolbar you will hate this program. For some reason, some morons at Microsoft decided to make Excel resemble some Fischer Price hide-and-seek computer game. Finding basic functions is beyond ridiculous. Trying to use Excel 07 w/ PowerPoint 07 is even more insane. DONT UPGRADE to 07. This is the worst Microsoft experience I have had and that says a lot after Millenium and Vista!
The last good year of Excel 2003!! Jun 28, 2010 This is the worst product that Microsoft ever produced. If you ever used Excel before, you will be disappointed at this new Excel. It is so difficult to use. I have talked with many others and the production of power users have been cut in half. If I could have given this product a 0 ZERO I would have, because it doesn't deserve a 1.

Utter Crap, luckily I still have my old office licenses, & OO3 Feb 05, 2010 Simply trying to make meaningful data into a chart is the most frustrating experience I've had on a computer in many years. I literally had to remind myself that it's not my laptops fault... before I threw it. I'm not even particularly prone to rages. In all seriousness, if you have blood pressure problems, using this software is risking your life. The 'ribbon'? Apparently buttons weren't good enough? worked fine for me... And with those I could get into parts of the application that allowed powerful data manipulation... apparently Microsoft felt that I shouldn't be allowed to DO that... I try to not make things personal, but it's hard with this latest iteration...
Open office isn't perfect yet, but it's a viable alternative. One I'll be using. At least I can make a chart look right. If you are considering actually paying MONEY for this bloatware, at least, first download Open office, and try it out. Then DL the trial for office and try to do the same things... it might help you make an informed decision. Especially if your time is worth anything at all.

Excel 2007 disappointment Jan 15, 2010 Our company at GE is very disappointed with the new 2007 design. Everyone loves the older version with the dropdown menu's much better. Good try but no thanks. We feel the 2007 version brings us back to nursury school. Please change it back!!!

A great change- Easier to find Features Sep 11, 2009 A lot of people don't like this new version because it's different. Change is not widely accepted. The new version of Excel is the same as the old version with updated features, themes, design, etc. I found the new version to make it easier for me to find features that i didn't know existed. I cringe when I'm forced into using the '03 version during work hours!
